Social Studies
The Social Studies Tuition comprises thematic content revision and writing practices.
For the content revision segment, students will explore various topics based on the three overarching issues. Study notes will be provided to support the coverage of these topics.
For the writing practice segment, students will be tasked to attempt guided and non-guided case study and structured questions. These questions are based on the featured thematic content and reference to real-world scenarios.
For Upper Secondary Social Studies (2260/2261/2262), students are required to explore three main issues:
Issue 1 - Exploring Citizenship and Governance
Issue 2 - Living in a Diverse Society
Issue 3 - Being Part of a Globalised World
What Your Child Will Learn
An in-depth coverage of each main issue is as follows:
Issue 1 - Exploring Citizenship and Governance - Students will deepen their understanding of the role of citizens, playing a crucial role in interacting with governments. For instance, students will explore how citizens share their concerns with their leaders that will then formulate sound policies to address the needs of societies.
Issue 2 - Living in a Diverse Society - In this issue, students will explore various challenges faced by diverse societies, such as the impacts of immigration and racial diversity.
Issue 3 - Being Part of a Globalised World - The final issue will look at the causes and consequences of globalisation, such as the economic and socio-cultural repercussions on countries and people.
