Secondary Physics Tuition, Singapore
Understand phenomena and interactions of the world
Physics is one of the most fundamental science underpinning many of the scientific concepts that students will be exposed to in their education. Given its complexity and broadness in the scope of knowledge, SGEducators features Secondary Physics Tuition to simplify it such that students can master it.
Objectives of the Sec Physics Tuition
What students can expect from from Secondary Physics Tuition
Students who sign up for secondary physics tuition programme featured by SGEducators will benefit from the informative lessons provided by the centres. The lessons are designed such that students will be armed with the right content knowledge, skills, and passion to be prepared for exams.
Build content knowledge
At our featured tuition centres, students will be exposed to wide scope of content to facilitate their understanding in physics. With the right content knowledge, they will grow more proficient in answering the application questions from the examination questions.
While content knowledge is important, the skills and techniques to answer some of the novel questions from physics require good analytical skills. By training the students on building up their skills to understand the context in the question and applying the right knowledge, they will be able to tackle most of the questions with ease.
Develop the passion for learning
As physics is a large of science with many possibilities still unexplored, we hope that students do not just learn within the syllabus but continue to ask the important ‘how and why’ while constantly seeking new knowledge to satisfy their thirst of knowledge. The programmes featured by SGEducators constantly encourage students to explore the different possibilities and applications based on the knowledge they have acquired.
Features of our Programme
Ace your physics
SGEducators Secondary Physics Tuition programmes provide comprehensive learning environment and resources for students to utilise and optimise their learning. The programmes have been carefully and meticulously designed by our tutors with the students’ learning needs in mind.
Consultation with tutors
Reading the textbook and understanding the concept can be an easy feat for some. Nonetheless, it can be frustrating when one is constantly stuck with a question without even realising it requires an application of a well-learned knowledge. With the consistent contact with our professional and approachable tutors, students will be guided in applying their concepts aptly according to the different contexts created by the questions.
The Physics Tuition programmes featured by SGEducators provide comprehensive and succinct notes to optimise the students learning and revision experience. As students can get often bogged down with heavy terms from the textbook, our notes are designed to unpack the meaning of the terms, while also including areas to look out for in examination and question answering techniques.
As physics is an application-based subject, it is important that students constantly practise on questions from past school or national exam papers to keep themselves prepared. Our tutors focus on exposing students to a wide range of questions such that they will be familiarised with many question types.
O Level Physics Syllabus
Always keep up to your learning objective
The O level Physics is offered as a full subject (Pure Physics) or half subject (Combined Physics) to cater to students of different learning pace and interest. Regardless of the type of Physics subject offered, students are expected to apply their learned knowledge to varied contexts as brought out by the examination questions.
Pure Physics (5059/6091)
Students taking the Pure Physics syllabus will be required to complete an MCQ-paper, structured question paper, and a practical/school-based assessment (based on subject code), all in separate seating.
Science Practical Assessment(SPA)
Also known as school-based science practical assessment (SPA), it is conducted to assess students on their performing, observing, analysing and planning skills. The entire paper takes up 20% of the entire paper and students will be tested specifically for each skill mentioned above.
Theory Paper 1
Paper 1 consists of multiple choice questions and students are required to complete 40 MCQs in an hour.
Theory Paper 2
Paper 2 has 2 sections, section A and B. Section A carries 50 marks and includes structured questions. Section B carries 30 marks and will have 3 questions. The first 2 will be presented in the form of a data based questions. The last question will be in an either/or form.Students will be given 1h 45min to complete this paper.
